6 Months|Drew
He’s 6 months already! Once again, I get the opportunity to photograph the Venvertloh Family. From their engagement, to the wedding, and trash-the-dress, onto pregnancy announcements, newborn session…and now 6 months!
So, Drew has a gosh darn adorable laugh that was just cracking me up during this photo session. We are talking a deep down belly chuckle that instantly brings a smile to the face of anyone who hears it. He is also a man of many facial expressions…just like his mommy. He gave me such interesting looks during my “crazy photographer lady trying to make a baby laugh” attempts. He would look at me and then a side glance over to mommy and daddy. I’m pretty sure he was thinking, “Umm…guys. Who is this lady? What I am do to with this?” Ha! And he would study my camera. I would finally get a laugh or smile and as soon as I brought that camera up, the smile was gone and he had his “What is that? Can I reach that? What does that do?” face. Being an engineer, I think Drew gets his curiousity of how things work from his dad.
One of the many things I love about this family is just how loving they are to each other. Being first time parents can be stressful and overwhelming. These two just seem to embrace it with a heap of humor and good old laughter. For example, during the teddy bear and booty photo, Drew seemed good to go all propped up and happy. Well…due to his little round bottom and pudgy tummy, he slowly started to lean towards the bear. Then came the tipping point…lean lean…and oops. Over he went. Mommy tried to get there as fast as she could be it happened too quickly. Don’t worry…Drew was fine as the bear softened the fall. Though scary for many parents, in just a few seconds they knew he was okay. Both started to giggle and say, “Oops, mommy fail” and “Hashtag, first time parents mistake”. They simply brushed it off, joked that it probably won’t be the last time that happens, and then brought back the fun and laughter out of their son. So relaxed and loving all in one.
Drew’s next session will be when he is 1 year old. Goodness…that will be here before I know it. I just can’t wait. Venvertloh Family…You rock!
