3 Year-Old Photo Session | Cooper

3 Year-Old Photo Session | Cooper

I absolutely love this entire family!  I have been photographing them since their beautiful boys were little babies.  For this session, it was time for Cooper’s big 3rd birthday photo shoot.

We decided to head out to Forest Park for some fabulous scenery.  Let me just say, we sure did pick a very busy day… There were two proms, tons of people biking, numerous colorful kites flying, lots of paddle boating, and anything and everything else under the sun that everyone (including the dog…literally) could do out in Forest Park. Ha!  Cooper and big brother Hudson noticed right off the bat all the kids playing in the “Do Not Swim” pond in front of the World’s Fair Pavilion.  Oh boy did they want to go in.

Well, with so many people around (including their dogs, remember?),  we left and went on the hunt for a much quieter area.  All was going great until a special stick spoke to Cooper…Yes a stick. LOL.  He simply loved this stick and would not put it down.  Therefore, as you can see, it was in most of his images.  “Kids will be kids so let them be kids,” is what I say.  It adds character and personality to the photos.

We got some great fun shots of Cooper playing with this stick that made him so happy! He did not love holding the 3 but was willing to do this to make mom happy.   Such a sweetie.  We also needed to get a few of Hudson with his 4.  And finally, some of the family together.   I’m sorry little mama, I could not resist capturing that moment when Cooper bent over and his little booty-crack hung out! I just had to share that adorable unplanned photo.

Of course, at the end of the session, the kids were allowed to splash in the fountain…Key word here is “splash” and not “get wet”.  When we adults turned for  just a second…Those boys went all in!  Ha!  We threw our hands up in the air, went with it, and was able to have fun making memories and capturing each moment.  The water was cold, but as always kids do not care…They just wanna play!  I know there was no plan for them to get wet so I am sure it was a long damp ride home.  I’m glad the parents cut loose and let them have fun.  It makes for fun times and great memories.  You just gotta let loose and go with the flow sometimes.  Right, boys?

The entire session was completed when the boys wanted to give me a hug good-bye…A very big wet hug good-bye.  Totally worth it!
